On 28 August 2025, Hacksaw Gaming dropped Miami Mayhem — their first move into a Miami crime setting inspired by Vice City. We ran it hard for three weeks on CrazyBet (18,200 spins, €1,150 wagered).
What stands out straight away? Additive Crew Reels + Missions. You feel it from the first session, the base game never really goes into a dead spin loop.

Game Rules: Grid & Win Mechanics
5×4 grid, 14 fixed paylines
A winning combination is at least 3 identical symbols landing on one of the 14 fixed paylines starting from reel 1. Wins only count from left to right. Straightforward.

Key Symbols
- Premium: 5 gang characters (face icons) — up to 10× for 5-of-a-kind based on our sessions
- Wild (Golden Anchor): Substitutes all paying symbols
- Crew Symbols: Transform into expanding Wilds with multipliers from x2 to x100
- Wanted: Triggers Missions (3 respins)
- FS Scatter: 3/4/5 Scatters = The Hit / We Split / Get Lit

Crew Reels Rules: Stacking Multipliers
You know the VS symbols in Wanted Dead or a Wild? Same idea here. As soon as a Crew symbol connects in a win, it expands to cover all 4 positions on the reel and reveals a random multiplier from x2 to x100.

The bit that trips people up: they add up (x15 + x25 + x12 = x52). Never multiply. We learned that the hard way, chasing a x375 that never showed.
Another upside: they can land in the base game, which makes every spin live. Yes, base game too. When it connects, it hits hard.
Real example (our session on 19/09, 23:37)
- Reel 2: Crew Reel x15
- Reel 4: Crew Reel x25
- Reel 5: Crew Reel x12
Total multiplier: x52
Base win: €8
Final win: €416 (on a €1 stake)
We were expecting x40 — it actually paid x67 once the other symbols connected. Proper hit. Woke the whole place up.
Missions: Progressive Wanted Level System
The Mission feature is what gives this game its edge. It only appears in the base game and the variance is brutal, in a good way.

When the Wanted badge lands:
- 3 respins are awarded
- A premium symbol is selected as the target

If it lands a win: you reset to 3 respins AND the Wanted Level increases by +1
If you miss: reset back to level 0 and straight to the base game (that one hurts)
Wanted Level Table: Guaranteed Minimum Multipliers
| Level | Minimum guaranteed multiplier on Crew Reels |
|---|---|
| Level 0 | None |
| Level 1 | x2 minimum |
| Level 2 | x5 minimum |
| Level 3 | x10 minimum |
| Level 4 | x15 minimum |
| Level 5 | x25 minimum |
Our best run: 4 Missions cleared back-to-back, reached Level 4 (x15 minimum), then bricked and reset. Total returns despite the reset: €68.
Quick snapshot: we pushed WL3 → WL4 on a clutch respin, then whiffed straight after. +€68 on the sequence, but it still feels like a missed opportunity.
The 3 Progressive Bonus Features
Hacksaw went all-in here, each bonus plays differently. On Miami Mayhem, you get 3 distinct variants, all high variance. Very.
| Bonus | Scatters | Free spins | Multi max (Upgrade 3) | Our frequency |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Hit | 3 | 10 FS | x10 minimum | 1/120 spins |
| We Split | 4 | 10 FS | x15 minimum | 1/1820 spins |
| Get Lit | 5 | 10 FS | x25 minimum guaranteed | 0/18 200 spins |
Observed frequencies over 18,200 spins, not guaranteed, variance is high.
The Hit Bonus: 10 Progressive Free Spins
To trigger the free spins, you need 3 Scatter symbols. You get the idea quickly once you start playing.

From the start, you begin with 0 stars and a symbol selected by the game. As soon as it connects, the star level increases by one (so does the multiplier), and the symbol switches.

Basically, it plays like the base game feature — just stretched out, with expanding Wilds dropping more often.
The smart bit: the number of expanding Wilds is increased compared to the base game. So connections happen more frequently.
One last thing: you can retrigger.
2 Scatters = +2 spins, 3 Scatters = +4 spins.
Our results (150 bonuses):
- Without upgrade: average win 42× stake
- Tier 3 upgrade: average win 187× stake
Our best bonus: 427× ( €0.80 stake = €342 )
We Split Bonus: Mayhem Bar + Final Crew Spin
Four Scatters or nothing. It’s our favourite and the one that punishes hardest when it doesn’t pay.

How it works in 3 steps:
Each Crew Reel that connects is stored in the Mayhem Bar (5 slots, one per reel)

2. At the end of the 10 spins, a final Crew Spin reactivates all stored Crew Reels simultaneously

3. This is usually where everything flips. We’ve seen the counter spike out of nowhere.
The symbol progression system is still in play. Hitting Level 4 during this bonus can lead to massive payouts on the final Crew Spin.
Field snapshot: 19/09 at 23:00 — we finally hit the Crew Spin with three reels stored. Expected around x40, it landed at x67. The whole flat thought something broke.
Our results (50 bonuses):
- Without upgrade: average win 110× stake
- With upgrades and 3+ expanding Wilds: average win 250× stake
Our record: 946× (€1 stake = €946) — that’s where the game’s ceiling really showed
Get Lit Bonus: Hidden Epic Feature
We never saw it during our sessions. Not once. Had to check YouTube just to see what it looks like.
In short: expanding Wilds start at a minimum x25 and the Mission mechanic is gone. However, unlike We Split, expanding Wilds don’t persist.
- At least 1 Crew Symbol guaranteed per spin
- No retriggers, no Mission
Our experience: 0 triggers in 18,200 spins. Extremely rare. Not buyable (and honestly, that’s a good thing).

CrazyBet Editorial Verdict: 8.7/10
For us, Miami Mayhem delivers on its promise: a balance between constant action (Missions), strong upside (15,000×) and decent accessibility (96.35% RTP).
Who is it for? We recommend it to players with a solid bankroll (€200+), who enjoy high volatility and progressive mechanics.
Hacksaw nailed their entry into the Vice City-style setting. Fair play — we’ll be coming back to it.
